About the couple:
After a rocky start when Iain neglected to remember meeting Lucy at The Rose back in its glory days of 2011 (iykyk), the pair struck up a friendship and bonded over their shared experience of holidaying with the Timms family. They soon realised the extent of their common interests and after 11 years of festivals, BBQs, dinner dates, holidays, house parties, PJ days, John Lewis trips and a cat adoption, they decided to get married. We really hope you can join us to celebrate.

Chateau Barayre is a small family-run medieval castle in the Southern French countryside that hosts holidays, weddings, workshops and work events.
Please click on the link above for nearby accommodation options. Manoir D'Auzolles, Les Vergers de Soubeyrac and Relais des 3 Bastides are already booked . But there are plenty more options in the area, from high end B&Bs to camping and glamping.
Please let Lucy and Iain know where you are staying, they are looking into facilitating transport to and from the venue.
Coming from England by plane the nearest airport to the venue is Bergerac (30 minute drive), followed by Bordeaux (2 hour drive) and Toulouse (2 hour drive). There are numerous flight options so please check Skyscanner and choose what works best for you. If you are joining us for Friday night then aim to be at the venue for around 17.00. Another great way to arrive is by car if you are staying longer than just the weekend. Driving in France is super easy and you can review both ferry and shuttle options to find the best price. There are lots of cool places in France to extend your visit and break the drive from Calais/Dunkerque e.g Loire Valley, Champagne region, Bordeaux etc. Please drop us a line if you need travel advice and click on the link above for more info.
If you are thinking to extend your trip: this region is a fantastic holiday destination. Medieval castles, romantic villages, famous pre-historic sites such as the caves of Lascaux, beautiful nature, vineyards, many food & brocante markets and great French cuisine.

Q&A
Parking on site:
There are places to park around the church in Envals. It is then a short walk through the field to the castle. You are welcome to enter the castle via the driveway if you need to drop anything (or anyone) off but cars should then be moved out to the church area.
How about my kids
Unfortunately due to guestlist numbers we are unable to include children or anyone else who hasn't been sent an invitation directly.
What to wear:
Wedding attire for the Saturday however please bear in mind it is a medieval castle so there are uneven surfaces. It could also be warm so suncream and cooler clothes might be wise. If you would like to go in the pool on Sunday make sure you bring swimmers!
Is the wedding indoors or outdoors?
Weather permitting we will be outside most of the weekend
Do I have to attend all 3 days?
As much as we would love to spend the extra time with you all, and we think you will love this beautiful area of France - we appreciate a 3 night stay may not be possible for everyone. Please just let us know on the RSVP how much of the programme you will be able to join us for so we can cater accordingly
How will food and drinks be served?
Friday night we will be serving pizzas for all that are able to join. The wedding breakfast will be served around 17.30 on Saturday and there will be snacks later on. We hope you can join us for a full French brunch on Sunday at 11. There will also be wine tasting, BBQ and more feasting Sunday evening.
What time should I arrive?
Please aim to arrive by 17.00 on the Friday - food will start being served around 19.00. Guests should be at the castle from 13.30 on the wedding day where some pastries will be served before the ceremony starts. On the Sunday, brunch will be served at the castle from 11.00.
What if I have a dietary requirement?
Please make sure this is specified in your RSVP. If you have forgotten to do this then please contact Lucy or Iain.
It is okay to take pictures with our phones or camera during the wedding?
Yes please do - we can't wait to see your snaps! However, please refrain from taking photos in the ceremony until the end. There will be a QR code at the venue where you can login to our POV app which will then share everyone's photos at the end of the weekend.
Any other questions please contact Lucy on 07890 481604 or Iain on 07539 072771
