Chateau Barayre is a small family-run medieval castle in the Southern French countryside that hosts holidays, weddings, workshops and work events.
For those of you staying at a nearby accomodation we suggest to book a stay at Aux Martis, Dame du Lac or camping La Parenthese,. It’s nice to stay together and facilitates transport. Mention your wedding at “Chateau Barayre” some places will give a discounts.
For all transport - both from station/airport to the venue - as well as necessary local transport it’s advised to book that in advance. Countryside taxi’s are not on demand and organizing in advance will give you a better price. If you arrive with more then 10 people, it’s usually the best option to rent a van.
If you are thinking to extend your trip: this region is a fantastic holiday destination. Medieval castles, romantic villages, famous pre-historic sites such as the caves of Lascaux, beautiful nature, vineyards, many food & brocante markets and great French cuisine.
FAQs
What if I can only come to part of the weekend?
Absolutely fine! Whilst we want to see as much of you as possible, we understand that you have your own commitments. Please let us know what days you are coming so that we can inform the wonderful caterers.
What’s the wedding day schedule?
Further information on the exact schedule of the day will be provided closer to the big day.
Are children allowed?
Whilst we are thrilled that you have procreated and in doing so, have secured the future of humanity. We cannot accommodate many of these little pioneers, intellectuals and comedians. Therefore, please only bring your special bundles of joy if they are classified as ‘bubs in arms’. Please message if you require support in classifying your offspring as bub or a child.
What to wear?
Think fancy garden party in French summer - cool and comfortable but somewhat formal.
Please consider dressing for the forecast as, whilst the weather in France is generally hot and sunny this time of year, it can occasionally rain. Part of the wedding will be on grass, please consider shoes accordingly. The temperature will of course drop later in the day so you may want to consider a jacket but the evening will be spent dancing in the barn.
Can I have a plus one?
We unfortunately can only accommodate those specifically noted in invitation. We appreciate your understanding as we celebrate our special day.
What if it rains?
Everyone will be responsible for not mentioning anything about the weather. Especially to Olivia. Fortunately, we can have the ceremony inside the barn.
Who should I contact?
More details are to follow but if you have any burning questions please message Henry or Olivia directly. Although, to be honest, probably better to message me, Henry. Please note that my standard response times will make you question whether you have the right number. Rest assured; you probably do. This is not a reflection of your fine character.
Gift suggestions
Your presence at our wedding is the greatest gift of all, but for those of you whom would like to honour us with a present, we will inform you at a later stage.
